Scalloped Potatoes

Mangia Scalloped Potatoes
  • 4 cups thinly sliced potatoesMangia Scalloped Potatoes 3
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon Mangia Cajun Dry Rub
  • 2 -3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 3 green onions, chopped (separate the firmer white ends from the green tips)
  • 1 cup grated cheese (I used a blend of parm, romano, and asiago)
  • 1/2 grated cheese for the top

  1. In a small sauce pan, melt butter and add flour, mixing with a whiskMangia Scalloped Potatoes 2
  2. Let sit for a minute til mixture has browned slightly add milk, mixing with a whisk
  3. Add salt, mangia, garlic, and the white ends of the green onions
  4. Cook sauce on low heat until bubbling, occasionally stirring with a whisk
  5. Add in cheese and stir until melted, remove from heat
  6. In a casserole dish or 9×9 cake pan, layer half of the potatoes and then cover with half of the cheese sauce.
  7. Layer second half of potatoes and cover with the remaining cheese sauce.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining grated cheese on top
  9. Top with a sprinkle of mangia and a sprinkle of paprika
  10. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 1 hour
  11. Eat it!
